  I was excited about taking my boyfriend for a late lunch at Dexter's, as he had never been there. Of course the place is very appealing, and the service was very good, which was consistent with my previous experiences as well. Generally the food is of exceptional quality and flavor. Today, however, we were very disappointed with the fish special. The flavor was excellent, but not one, not two, but all three of his initial bites contained a bone! The first two bites had a small, fine bone in each. We waited for the waitress but eventually went ahead and took a third bite. This third bite produced a bone which was easily one and a half inches in length! Nothing like this to ruin lunch! We waited for the waitress and politely told her what had happened, and showed her the bones on the edge of the dish. She wanted to inform the manager, which was fine. We explained the same to him and he said that he was sorry, that had not happened before and did we want to try another piece of fish? We declined and he said he would take it off the bill (no kidding! 3 bites only, so that seemed like a no brainer). We ordered another special, which was a sandwich and was excellent, but by then we were ready to call it a day. No biggie, and certainly not my goal, as the money did not mean anything to me, but I was a bit surprised to see everything (not the fish) on the bill. If it were my business, I certainly would have attempted to make amends by doing something like making the sandwich complimentary, or a beverage, or anything. Just seemed like a lame way to handle the situation in my opinion.
